The production is a partnership between the professional Virginia Stage Company and the award-winning college theatre program of Norfolk State University. While the students joyfully play Dorothy, Lion, Tinman, Scarecrow as well as the ensemble, Nicole is joined onstage by fellow Broadway actress Laiona Michelle as Evilene.

After the plays limited engagement on Broadway in 2011, it has become a favorite of regional theaters across the country.

The NYC presentation was directed by Simon Phillips, (dir. of Priscilla of the Desert), and performed before an invited audience.

Nicole joins Nathan Lane, David Hyde Pierce, and other Broadway performers in Marc Shaimans Prop 8: the mini-musical. The performance served as the opening number for Defying Inequality: the Broadway Concert celebrity benefit for equal rights. Prop 8 - the musical was originally a star-studded video that became an internet sensation.
In this live version, Nicole is added to the cast making a special appearance impersonating First Lady Michelle Obama.
The performance, directed by Adam Shankman (dir. Hairspray the movie), was met with thunderous laughter and applause.

After a successful run at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Ragtime returns to Broadway and sets up house at the Neil Simon Theatre.
Nicole is cast in the ensemble and is thrilled to return to the theatre where she performed in Hairspray until it closed earlier this year.

On January 4th 2009 "Hairspray" will play its final performance on Broadway.
After 61/2 years and 2,641 performances at the Neil Simon Theatre, Hairspray says goodbye to Broadway. In the final weeks, Harvey Fierstein and Marissa Jaret Winokur returned to reprise their Tony Award winning performances and close the show.
It was a bittersweet moment for Nicole who joined the company just short of their first anniversary in 2003. She worked with just about every one that has performed in the show. Some well known names include Harvey Fierstein, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Mathew Morrison, Kathy Brier, George Wendt, Michael McKeon, Tevin Campbell, Hilary Duff, Diana Digarmo, Darlene Love, Ashley Parker Angel and Lance Bass among others.
After taking a final bow with the rest of her cast mates, they were joined on stage by the producers, the creative team and dozens of Hairspray alumni.
